Who we are
& What we do

Open SGF, a Code for America brigade, provides a forum for local designers; mobile, web, and application developers to tackle technical problems for our community. Many organizations lack the necessary funding to produce quality technical solutions for their problems. This group aims to close that gap by bringing people together to work on these projects weekly. We welcome all skill levels, and no coding experience is necessary.

Projects

SGF Covid Support

A project dedicated to helping people find pharmacies, food, and other support for the Covid-19 pandemic in Springfield, MO. Open SGF partnered with Code for Chapel Hill to help contribute to the project, and to bring the project to people here in Springfield, MO.

Motherhood Reclaimed

Motherhood Reclaimed seeks to work with mothers to uncover primary causes of family instability, often rooted in unstable identity and unprocessed trauma. It seeks to provide education and support for healthy relationships and meaningful life engagement, including long-term employment and financial stability.

Are you a developer, designer, or a community person interested in bringing technological solutions to problems for our community? Come join us at our Code & Demo nights!

Code & Demo nights are a great opportunity for everyone to demo their work, and to continue working on their projects.

Code nights provide our product development teams meet weekly for work sessions to develop technology that helps the city.

Both nights provide a fantastic way to learn about what projects are available to contribute to. If you're unsure about which project is most suitable for you, our organizers are more than happy to assist you 1 on 1.
